Hi, I’m Rachel Landis. I am a current LPEA board member for District 3!

Dear LPEA Neighbor

It has been an honor to serve you and LPEA these past six years. I am proud of the work we have done to develop a cleaner power supply, take steps to keep rates low and financial accountability high, and work to provide you a best-in-class customer experience. Several of the efforts that I’d like to highlight include the LPEA Board’s unanimous vote to purchase 50% of our energy from a power provider who could meet our 80% carbon reduction targets; the development of alternative power portfolio requirements that included community-vetted clean energy projects that would keep jobs and taxpayer dollars local, and also our current efforts to build a 2MW community solar garden that provides everyone with. During my tenure, I have also worked hard to ensure that the coop is upholding its commitment to serving our community — I have advocated for increased transparency, access, and communication which has led to live-streamed, virtual board meetings, advocacy for LPEA to support local broadband efforts, this year’s offering of ballots in both Spanish and English, as well as, outspoken support for more opportunities to connect with our members through our ongoing Townhall Meeting series. As a member of our local nonprofit workforce, I am acutely aware of how shifts in daily expenses have a very real impact on our lives and have worked hand in hand with the Board and LPEA staff to cut spending, reduced electric rates, and returned $5.5 million to members through capital credits..

My efforts at LPEA, as well as, my professional and personal pursuits have demonstrated that I am collaborative leader capable of addressing complex issues, working with diverse opinions, advocating for equity, and operating with integrity. If elected to represent you, I am eager to continue my commitment to sourcing clean energy, supporting local economic development opportunities, keeping costs and rates low, and also ensuring you as member receive exceptional service. These next few years will play a pivotal role in determining how LPEA sources its power, integrates Electric Vehicle and other distributed energy resources, and holds true to our cooperative values.

Thank you for helping move LPEA forward! I’d be honored to continue to serve as your LPEA representative. LPEA ballots will arrive by mail on or around May 3rd and are due June 7th. I hope that I can count on your vote and support. Reach out if you would like further information or have any questions, [email protected] .

Thank you!
